Excellent payload capacity

The light body has a load capacity of 3 kg. It can handle common mirrorless and lens setups, is comfortable to hold and is very powerful. Compared to the previous generation, the tilt axis of the RS 4 model was extended by 8.5 mm, which increased the space for balancing. This allows common mirrorless and lens setups to be deployed along with accessories such as ND filters, expanding the possibilities of creative potential.

Stabilization algorithm of the 4th generation

DJI has comprehensively optimized the new generation RS stabilization algorithm for various usage scenarios. It achieves an excellent balance between the strength of stabilization and the perception of camera movement, which brings both excellent stabilization performance and a better user experience. In addition, the RS 4 offers significantly better vertical shooting stability, making it easy to stabilize dynamic shots such as running shots or low-angle shots. DJI RS 4 supports the professional functions of DJI PRO products and provides excellent performance that increases the efficiency of creation.

Bluetooth wireless control

The DJI RS 4 can remotely control the camera trigger and zoom lens using Dual-Mode Bluetooth technology. In zoom control mode, you can use the joystick to control Power Zoom for PZ lenses and Clear Image Zoom to get native zoom. You only need to pair the camera once, then it will automatically reconnect. [3]

DJI Focus Pro Motor support

Customizing the trigger function

The trigger function can be adapted to FPV mode, when the three axes of the gimbal follow the direction of movement of the handle when the trigger is pressed and held. This is especially useful when shooting panning shots or simulating POV.

Gimbal mode switch

You can quickly switch between PF, PTF and FPV modes with the gimbal mode switch. You can also set the FPV mode to 3D Roll 360 mode or Custom mode according to your current shooting requirements.

Ecosystem of accessories - RSA communication port

The DJI RS 4 is equipped with an RSA communication port that allows you to connect accessories such as the DJI RS Tethered Control Handle [6] and third-party accessories such as control handles and remote control ring handles. So you can flexibly switch between different shooting settings according to your creative needs. Thanks to the DJI RS SDK, third-party manufacturers and individual developers can develop customized functions for the RS 4 to meet a wider range of shooting requirements.

Accessories from the DJI RS series [6] such as the RS BG30 Battery Grip, RS Focus Motor (2022) and Ronin Image Transmitter are compatible with the RS 4.

DJI RS BG30 Battery Grip: Lasts to power the RS 4 for about 12 hours. Supports PD and QC 2.0 fast charging protocols. [7]

DJI RS Focus Motor (2022): Maximum torque of 1Nm enables smooth focusing.

DJI RS Tethered Control Handle: Support operations such as going to sleep, recording and focusing.

DJI RS SDK together with developers form one ecosystem.

The DJI RS SDK is a development protocol provided by DJI to developers and third-party hardware manufacturers to equip stabilizers such as the RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 3 Pro with additional features for large-scale scenarios. The DJI RS SDK is currently only available in English and Chinese.

The use:

1. Building a virtual studio system that allows you to control the RS stabilizer using a computer or console.
2. Mount the RS Stabilizer on the slider and link them using programming for four-dimensional control.

1. Data was measured by comparing the battery life of the DJI RS 4 model equipped with the DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip and the DJI RS 4 model equipped with the DJI RS BG21 Battery Grip. Run time was measured in an indoor environment at 25°C (77°F) with the gimbal balanced
to a horizontal and motionless state until the battery level reached 3% (with the Battery grip only powering the gimbal).
2. After switching between horizontal and vertical shooting, it is necessary to rebalance the gimbal.
