Two cameras

DJI Air 3 is an innovative drone from the DJI Air series that comes with a dual camera system . This system combines a compact and elegant drone body with a powerful wide-angle camera and a medium-sized camera. These cameras are equipped with a 1/1.3" CMOS sensor - one in the wide-angle camera and another with 3x zoom in the medium-sized camera. Although these cameras have the same sensor size, their focal lengths are different, which ensures high image quality and at the same time, it expands the possibilities of dynamic display [3].Both cameras are capable of recording photos with a resolution of 48MP , which provides faithful detail and allows for easy editing.

Complementary camera performance

Thanks to the wide-angle camera, you will be able to capture wider and more colorful scenes, which is ideal for diverse landscapes. The medium telephoto camera allows you to use a lossless 3x optical zoom , which gives you a unique perspective and allows you to reduce the space between objects. If you decide to use a wide angle camera, you will be able to capture more of the scene at once thanks to its wide field of view. On the contrary, if we switch to the middle telecamera with 3x zoom, you will be able to focus on any object and make it a focal point for more significant details. 4K/60 fps resolution and HDR video

The DJI Air 3 drone is equipped with two 1/1.3-inch CMOS camera sensors. These cameras support dual native ISO sensitivity, allowing for live 4K/60fps HDR video recording without the need for additional editing. This means that recordings from both cameras will have vivid and rich colors and natural transitions between light and shadows, producing breathtaking and accurate results. Both cameras also support 10-bit color modes - D-Log M and HLG. D-Log M mode with 10-bit color depth helps preserve more detail in highlights and shadows, giving more flexibility in later video editing. While the HLG mode also with 10-bit color depth offers excellent dynamic range and the resulting recordings are of flawless quality without any color gradation.

Safe and confident flight

DJI Air 3 allows up to 46 minutes of flight[1], which is 48%[5] longer compared to the previous generation. This improved flight time gives you plenty of time to explore, adjust the composition and get the shots you want. The new charging HUB has an innovative energy transfer function. If you hold and press the function button, the remaining power from multiple batteries will be transferred to the battery with the highest remaining power[6]. This way you get a more charged battery in situations where charging options are not available. This improved feature ensures you a longer and unlimited flying period with your DJI Air 3 drone.

Sensing obstacles in all directions

The Air 3 drone has an omnidirectional camera system, which allows it to have a comprehensive overview of the surrounding environment. Thanks to this, the drone can detect obstacles in all directions. Should an obstacle be encountered, the drone will use the APAS 5.0 system to perform smoother and more fluid evasive maneuvers [7]. In this way, an overall safer flight is ensured. O4 Video Transmission

Inspiring smart features

In RTH smart return home mode [9] , the Air 3 drone automatically plans the optimal flight path for an advanced return to the starting point. However, at the same time, it maintains obstacle detection in all directions [2], which ensures a quick and safe return. With the FocusTrack function, you can easily keep yourself or your subject in the center of the frame, allowing for precise tracking and shooting. Thanks to the medium telecamera with 3x zoom, you can get unique spatial compression when shooting various objects. Vertical shooting in 2.7K

DJI Air 3 supports 2.7K vertical shooting with both cameras, so vertical shots are very dynamic when shooting landscapes or objects. Outputting a vertical 2.7K frame directly from the 4:3 CMOS sensor provides clips optimized for smartphone viewing and ready to share on social media without the need for additional editing.

MasterShots

The MasterShots function allows the Air 3 to automatically perform various camera movements, shoot multiple clips and then edit them with music, cuts and effects.

Night mode

Thanks to an advanced noise reduction algorithm, the Air 3 can capture noise-free images in up to 4K/30 fps even in low-light environments or at night.

Hyperlapse

Choose from four options, such as Free, Circle, Course Lock and Waypoint, and take time-lapse shots at resolutions up to 4K horizontally or 2.7K vertically.

Slow Motion

Select 4K/100 fps[4] or 1080p/100fps [4] for direct 4x slow-motion video recording.

Smartphoto 3.0

In single shot mode, the Air 3 defaults to SmartPhoto 3.0, which can automatically select between HDR, backlight and scene recognition for better shooting results. In HDR DNG[11] format, the camera can record greater dynamic range with built-in contrast enhancement. The image file can achieve JPG-level quality in post-processing software, which reduces the complexity of post-production.

QuickTransfer

Quickly downloading photos and videos from the drone directly to your smartphone via a wireless connection will save you time and effort.

Waypoint

The Waypoint feature is new to the Air line of drones. This feature allows you to pre-plan flight paths and shooting for the Air 3 drone, allowing you to achieve complex camera movements and breathtaking shots. You can create and save different flight paths so you can repeat exactly the same movement later, opening up possibilities for long time-lapse shots that capture transitions, such as day to night or season to season.
